About the Role

The role:
Depending on the school the job is in, the role may differ. Essentially, you will have responsibility for supporting children’s learning and assisting the class teacher. Activities may include; setting up equipment and preparing resources, providing support to children who require additional help with their work in class, helping pupils develop independent learning skills, providing 1:1 and small group support out of class, looking after children’s pastoral needs, working with children with specific SEN requirements and/or, as a HLTA, teaching classes to cover a teacher’s absence.

Supply&Teach are committed to safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children and safer recruitment practice. All appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, including a Children’s barred list check and satisfactory referencing.


  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one

  • Relevant experience working with children

  • Enthusiastic and ability to adapt to difficult situations

  • Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people

  • Confident in your behaviour management skills

  • Hold an NVQ Level 1 - 4
